Juvia's Place Masquerade Palette
Today's look is a hot pink and blue eyeshadow look from Juvia's Place Masquerade palette. I have had the mini one for awhile now and I have used it exactly three times. I was very pleased with all three looks but it's just too high-maintenance for everyday. There is something electrifying about the colour combination and pigmentation. The mattes are blendable but boy they are hella pigmented! The shimmers are striking but they are the oily type of formula that forms a hard shell very soon if you use your fingers to apply, and of course you have to use your fingers for the shimmers.
I used the matte purple and matte pink with some sparkles from the second row in my crease, and the first blue from the left all over my lid. Then I popped some of the light blue on the centre of the lid. All the shadows I used were from the top two rows.
And here are some swatches on my arm with no primer:
Overall, I really like Juvia's Place formula except the part where the shimmers seal over. I will show you what I mean in the picture below.
That is the part that will need some scraping off to get the shadow to work again. This is fairly common in "Oilier" shadows, which gives great payoff at first until it hardens. It could be the silicones or oil that causes this, and you can use a stiff eyeshadow brush to scrub it off.
Here is a close up of the look. I try my best to blend equally but because my light is on the left side of the table, it is hard for me to see the right side. It actually looks quite wearable to me hehe.
I am looking forward to receiving the BH Cosmetics Weekend Festival Colours, so that I can create more colourful looks. So far, this Masquerade palette is the most colourful palette I have, because I left my other palettes in Singapore. No worries, I am going back to Singapore for two months soon and this time, I will pack them.
